Tom Braxton has often been referred to as a “Jazz Missionary”… and this title inspired us to call this segment… “Jazzman on a Mission.”  His mission is to spread the love, joy, and peace of God through the power of instrumental music.  He’s been doing just that for over 35 years…garnering critical acclaim while thrilling audiences of all ages from coast to coast and abroad.  From Africa to Japan…from New York to L.A., his distinct, melodic sound leaves audiences astounded, clapping, and on their feet screaming for more!  He has recorded nine albums which have hit numerous jazz charts, and his music can be heard on radio and television airwaves nationwide.  This multi-instrumentalist and charismatic performer has been a fan favorite on the Smooth Jazz Cruise for over 12 years, and he has headlined his own shows stateside and abroad in Portugal, Ghana, The Netherlands, and Uganda.  For 17 years, Thomas toured extensively with NBA power forward and bassist, Wayman Tisdale as his musical director.  He has also toured with jazz pianist, Keiko Matsui in various venues across the country and in Russia, Eastern Europe, Malaysia & Japan.  For the last 7 years, he has toured with Grammy Winner and Legend, Earl Klugh, throughout U.S. and abroad.  Thomas has shared the stage with a list of who’s who…but here are just a few impressive names from the group…Dave Koz, Rick Braun, Peter White, Brian Culbertson, Marcus Miller, Bob James, George Duke, Kirk Whalum, Jonathan Butler, Aretha Franklin &Phillip Bailey.  In 2017, Thomas was honored in his hometown of Lubbock, Texas as he was inducted into The West Texas Walk of Fame.  Although his accolades are many, his humility, warmth, and genuine love for others have endeared him to fans and music lovers around the world.
